Dear Friends,

Had to include a pic of my Mom…she would have been 81 in August!

With the arrival of September, many of us are getting back into routines, the beach vacations moving into memories while the demands of everyday life move to the forefront. The morning and evenings cooling off seem to bring sighs of relief and a return of enough energy to begin happily re-engaging in the things that are just too darn hard to do in the summer heat!

We’ve started a new Beginner’s Course, which lasts six weeks and includes lessons on the Mat and on the equipment. Feel free to inquire about where we are in the class and if it would be appropriate to jump in or wait until the next one. We are participating in the Chamber of Commerce’s “Bizapalooza” on Thursday, September 13th from 5 to 7pm. Come visit our booth, check out some of our equipment, and register to win a free equipment or mat class! Finally, this is the month to start studying again! Even though I completed a 488 hour comprehensive training certification, and have had more CEU’s than I’ve needed each year since I’ve been certified, I am (saying it out loud!) preparing to take the PMA’s certification test. PMA is the overarching organization for Pilates, developing standards of excellence for Pilates world wide. I’m ordering the materials this week and hope to have taken and passed the test before the end of the year! I’m also looking forward to a two day training with Tom McCook of Balanced Body in Nashville at the end of the month. So its back to school for many of us!

I do have a bit of (to me!) unpleasant news. The Tennessee Department of Revenue has decided that fitness facilities now need to start charging tax! I’ve included the notice and will be required to start taxing my equipment classes immediately. I have checked with my tax advisor, and if anything changes, I will let you know right away!

In the meantime, I’m including some pictures of our hardworking clients for you to enjoy, as well as one of my mom, whose birthday was last month, and who made this journey into Pilates possible for me! Thanks, Mom!

Again, thank you for making Premier Pilates your studio of choice!
